Announcing the 2022 Badger Sponsorship

It’s that time of year again (*drumroll, please…*). The 2022 Badger Sponsorship is now live! Do a little happy dance and cross your fingers, because the prizes this year are unreal. From tents and sleeping bags to water filters and camp stoves, this year’s prize packages are stacked.

Some of you might be asking, “What is the Badger Sponsorship?” Well, in the past the Badger Sponsorship was a small gear program, giving a handful of thru-hikers the gear and support they needed for their hiking escapades. Over the past few years, the sponsorship program has grown into a massive gear giveaway totaling more than $22,000 worth of prizes. Sounds pretty sweet, right? That’s because it is.

Except unlike most years, the Badger Sponsorship is no longer restricted to self-proclaimed thru-hikers. No longer does the sponsorship require entrants to submit a video or partake in a public voting component. Oh, no! Things are much different. Instead, we’re opening up the Badger Sponsorship to all hikers and adventurers alike.

How to Enter

So how do you win a prize package, you might ask? It’s simple. This year, we are once again supporting the Partnership for the National Trails System. The goal of the Badger Sponsorship is to give out tons of free gear while also using this program to raise money to protect and preserve some of our most beloved trails across the National Trails System. Each dollar you donate through our BetterWorld fundraising campaign is an entry into the contest. Easy, right? So if you love free gear AND you love protecting our trails, then entering the Badger Sponsorship is a no-brainer.
